The mobile ECG device "ECG-Vital" is a medical device to record 3-channel ECGs. Simultaneously, a movement sensor records activity. By default and based on the kind and intensity of the movement, an activity profile is created which is used in the diagnostic evaluation. Furthermore, the movement data is used to evaluate the signal qualities, which keeps evaluation errors down to a minimum. By continuously and instantaneously processing the signal, the device can internally detect results in a first, important step. The data transfer to a gateway is engineered via Bluetooth.
Product characterization
Apart from the important medical use, the implementation‘s out-standing features are its versatility and its patient-friendly usability: the doctor can, in accordance with the case at hand, set it to one of three operational modes: Holter, loop and event recorder mode. For each mode, there is a placement and electrode configuration. Long-term use either works with a chest strap with integrated electrodes, or the base station with external electrodes. The event recorder only uses the electrodes integrated into the base station. The various modes are completed by the possibility of a real-time ECG evaluation, on the basis of which short reports can be generated and data transfer can be triggered. In combination with a gateway, these features allow for medical supervision at home. In addition to the online evaluation, the data is stored in internal memory, so that a later, offline analysis is equally possible. Due to the fact that it is extremely easy to operate and comfortable to wear (low weight, various placement modes), the product is particularly user-friendly. By integrating it into the Gate-Vital system, ECG-Vital can be combined with other vital parameter measurements.
