Flexing work on tires is increased through a very low air pressure; a premature wearing of tires becomes the inevitable consequence. At high speed, this may lead to the inability of the tires to cope with the pressure and thereby, result in the bursting of the tires.
An electronic tire pressure control system of the company Beru enables a permanent monitoring of the air pressure and the temperature of all the tires of the vehicle. It warns against sudden loss of pressure as well as against insufficient pressure, for instance, through full-loading. By this means, breakdowns and accidents can be effectively avoided. Moreover, the tire pressure monitoring system saves the pains, complexity and often inaccurate testing of tire pressure at gas stations.
The wheel-electronic systems of the four tires that are fitted with sensors measure the pressure and temperature of air in the interior of the tire. To transmit the data from the wheels to the board-electronics by means of radio, digades also developed a special radio system along with the transmission modules, receiver antenna and a receiver module, which are integrated in the wheel electronics.
The Beru tire pressure monitoring system is optionally obtainable for many models of the brand Audi, BMW, Daimler-Chrysler, Porsche and VW. Maybach is already equipped with this tire-pressure control system on a standard basis.
